Epithalon is the synthetic tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, designed from the pineal-gland extract epithalamin. It is the most studied of the Khavinson bioregulator peptides.

In human somatic-cell cultures, Epithalon induced telomerase activity and telomere elongation 1 and allowed cells to exceed the Hayflick division limit 2. Long-term clinical observations of epithalamin and thymalin in elderly patients reported reduced mortality and improved physiological markers 3.
